Overview:

To make an application of mathematics to the outside world, you must SEARCH and THINK. But, your journey will be rewarding because you will gain perseverance in problem solving and discover an efficient way to solve your problem should you find a connection.

Your Math Application should include….

1. A specific solved example from math class.

  1. A screenshot of a specific problem
  2. Your solution for the problem
  3. Your explanation of how the problem is solved in your own words but attempting to use good math vocabulary correctly

2. Your findings about a real world connection you think is related.

  1. A summary of what the topic is that you found.
  2. An explanation of how it is related to what you learned in math.
  3. Why what you learned in math helps you solve the problem better.

3. A summary that reinforces the connection between the first two sections

  1. Restate the two topics that are related: from class and from outside of class.
  2. Restate how they are related in your own words
  3. State something you learned as you completed this and any next steps you might take because of what you learned.
